Imobilul de apartamente aflat la intersecția Străzii Frumoasă cu Calea Victoriei a fost construit de societatea Construcția Modernă în cadrul unui program creștere a numărului de locuințe accesibile ca preț. Paternitatea acestui proiect este atribuită de literatura de specialitate arhitectei Virginia ANDREESCU HARET, deși există cel puțin un articol care pune sub semnul întrebării acest fapt. Cert este că arhitecta a lucrat la această societate în perioada aceea și, având în vedere că cealaltă lucrare în întregime eclectică a arhitectei este lucrată în echipă, probabil că și la această clădire ANDREESCU HARET a făcut parte dintr-un colectiv. Imobilul este organizat în patru tronsoane, deși aspectul este unul continuu, fluid, preluând colțul și realizând o legătură coerentă între cele două străzi.

Cele două fațade orientate spre străzi sunt tratate ca una singură, curbată, cu zona colțului subliniată cu fronton și cornișă. Toată această fațadă este împărțită în trei registre: parterul comercial, tratat ca un soclu cu bosaj pronunțat; etajele unu-patru – un registru ritmat de traveile elansate; mansarda, ușor mascată de o cornișă puternică, întreruptă doar de traveea de colț.

Întregul ansamblu este ornat cu decorații clasicizante, iar elementele variate de morfologie ne conduc la a încadra această clădire în repertoriul Eclectic. Din păcate, colțul, elementul principal al fațadei curbate, este orientat spre Nord, ceea ce face ca jocurile de adâncime a fațadei să treacă neobservate, dar fațada dinspre Palatul Cantacuzino oferă de asemenea o plastică valoroasă, care beneficiază și de lumină potrivită.

The apartment building at the intersection of Strada Frumoasă and Calea Victoriei was built by the Construcția Modernă Company as part of a program for increasing the number of affordable housing units. The ownership of the design for this project belongs, according to dedicated literature, to Virginia ANDREESCU HARET, although, there is at least one article that questions this fact. What is certain, though, is that the architect worked for this company in that period, and, seeing as how the other entirely eclectic work of hers was cosigned, it is likely that for this building as well Virginia ANDREESCU HARET could been part of a design team. The building is organized in sections, although the appearance is continuous, fluid, assuming the corner and realizing a coherent connection between the two streets.

The two facades that face the streets are treated as a single, curved facade, with the corner area emphasized by a pediment and cornice. This entire facade is partitioned into three registers: the commercial ground floor, treated as a base with powerful bossage; floors one to four – a register defined by the rhythm of the slender bays; the mansard, slightly masked by a powerful cornice, interrupted only by the corner facade bay.

The entire ensemble is enriched by classical ornaments, and the varied morphology leads us to assign this building to the Eclectic repertory. Unfortunately, the corner, the main element of the curved facade, faces North, which renders the play on facade depth planes unnoticed, but the facade facing the Cantacuzino Palace also offers a valuable composition, which receives the correct light.
